Converting an Alfetta 1.6GT, into an 1.8TURBO.

Replacing the original engine with the one from the 75TB is easily done, but there are a few things you should take notice of:

- Locate a place for mounting the oilcooler.
I've placed it in front of my radiator, in the nose of the car, behind the right lower-grill.

- Put the battery into the trunk, you won't have enough room for it left in the enginecompartiment.

- Replace the original coolant bottle with one from an Alfa 75, and place it similar as was done in the 75. Be sure to "fix" the original radiator valve into it's cap. (You only need to use one pressure filler cap, and that's mounted on the coolant bottle of the 75)

- Be sure to use ALL heatshields that came out of the 75TB compartiment, because turbo's can get really hot.

- Take care of the left front brakeline, it must be kept away from turbo heat. (all of them must be, but this one is very closely mounted to the turbo)

- You need a dual fuel line as used in the 75 for fuel supply, because the fuel must be circulated.
I used the complete polyurethane fuel line kit from the 75. It won't rust and you can lay it inside the car, under the carpet, as was done in the 75.

- Use both electric fuel pumps from the 75TB,(by the way, the main pump has more capacity than the main pump of an ordinary 75) the small pump, inside the tank, is not inside the tank of an Alfetta. So use them both.
The small pump has to be placed inside of the Alfetta tank, and is easily done because the attachment of the mounting plate is the same as used in the 75. The 75 mounting plate is also required for the connecting both fuel lines.
The only bad thing about it, is that the 75 has a separate fuel level sender, and the Alfetta has the fuel level sender weld to the mounting plate. Yes, the one you've just removed...

- When you decide to use the old Alfetta gearbox, you must replace the clutch and bearingwheel with the one from the 75TB. The original one is too small to handle the turbo power, and replacing it is easily done. After replacing the clutch-kit, be sure to use the old 3-holed mounting bracket from the Alfetta, because you have to use the transmission axle of the Alfetta (using a GTV6 axle is recommended) to connect to the gearbox. You need to use the first one from the 75TB to connect to the engines flywheel, and you must use the second one from the Alfetta to connect to the gearbox, because the distance between engine and gearbox is shorter than it is in the 75.
If you use the (second) axle of an Alfa GTV6, you don't need to replace the 3-holed mounting bracket.

- Last modification to be made is to create a nice, free-flow exhaust system. There's no factory-made system for this "new" car, so make one by yourself.
I used the original 75TB frontpipe and used absorption mufflers in the centre and at the end (somewhere in my garage there was a Trendino sports exhaust from an Alfa 145, waiting for this), all connected with 60mm piping.
I'm not able to bend those pipings, so it was just a matter of cutting and welding.
